Vessel only or + Conditioning Kit?
The 1 BBL Unitank ships pressure-ready as a vessel. The Conditioning Kit adds the four accessories most owners buy in the first six months — everything you need to naturally carbonate, force-carbonate, dry hop oxygen-free, and run closed-loop sanitation. Commercial-standard hardware throughout.
Which chiller fits this Unitank?
Tap water won't hold this vessel in summer. The 1 BBL needs a dedicated glycol chiller — the MCED BEF-05 is the matched chiller for 1 BBL operation. Add the temp control kit if you have your own chiller, or the kit plus a BEF-05 chiller if you don't.
Six stages. One vessel.
Same workflow as the homebrew Unitank, scaled to 1 BBL volumes. Pressurized phases (steel-tinted) happen above 5 psi — the spunding valve and PRV manage the loop.
Fill
Transfer chilled wort through the 8" top tri-clamp port. Pitch yeast. Seal.
Ferment
Primary fermentation at set point. Glycol jacket holds temperature; CO₂ vents.
Pressure
Switch to the spunding valve. Pressure rises through the tail of fermentation — 12–15 psi naturally carbonates the beer.
Crash
Drop to 32–35°F over 24–48 hours. Yeast flocculates to the apex. Pressure holds; no air ingress.
Harvest
Open the 2" butterfly trub-dump. Pull a yeast sample for the next batch through the sample port.
Transfer
Pressure-transfer carbonated beer through a racking arm (sold separately) to a brite tank or keg. Closed transfer — no oxygen, no flavor loss.

What to add for each extra tank
On a BräuPro 1 BBL, each extra Unitank 1BBL becomes the kettle for the next brew, then ferments that batch. The mash tun is shared. For each extra tank, add:
- 5500 W tri-clamp brewing element
- Stainless thermowell
- Rotating racking arm
- 3" butterfly valve, so one HopDrop moves from tank to tank
- Temperature control kit if you cool with glycol
About the 1 BBL Unitank.
Will I be charged anything at the border?+
No. Every US order ships fully duty-paid. We clear it and prepay the duties, tariffs and brokerage before it ships, and the courier delivers it like a domestic parcel. The price you see is the price you pay.
Our guarantee: if you're ever charged import duties or fees on a Bräu Supply order, send us the receipt and we refund them, no questions.
Alaska, Hawaii and international orders are quoted before you buy — contact us.
What's the build spec?+
Same vessel that ships inside our BräuPro 1 BBL brewhouse for the last two years — 304 stainless, sanitary polish, dimpled partial body jacket on the upper third for glycol cooling. Rated to 30 psi working pressure (2 bar). Pilot-scale conical bottom for clean trub harvest.
Do I need a BräuPro to use this?+
No. The 1 BBL Unitank is a standalone fermenter. Pair it with any tri-clamp hot side — our BräuPro 1 BBL, your existing pilot kettle, a commercial three-vessel rig. The only thing it needs is wort that gets to it cold.
Which glycol chiller should I pair with this?+
The MCED BEF-05 (4,440 BTU) is the matched chiller for 1 BBL operation — handles primary fermentation, cold-crashing, or two fermenters in parallel. For a 1 BBL hall running 3+ Unitanks, look at the BEF-075. We size for you on request.
Can I use tap water cooling on a 1 BBL?+
Tap water won't hold this vessel in summer. The 1 BBL's volume + thermal mass means tap water can keep up only when ambient is below ~55°F and you're fermenting ales above 65°F. For lagers, cold-crashing, or year-round operation, you need a glycol chiller. We don't sell a tap-water kit for the 1 BBL — it would be a setup for failure.
How do I clean a 1 BBL Unitank?+
Standard CIP procedure: cold rinse, hot caustic recirculation through the racking arm + butterfly, acid rinse, final rinse, sanitize. We sell a CIP spray ball that fits the 8" top port for closed-loop cleaning. Cycle takes ~45 minutes vessel-to-vessel.
Is there an operating manual?+
Yes. The Unitank operation, cleaning and safety manual (PDF) covers setup, the pressure relief valve (PRV), preventing vacuum collapse, carbonating, cleaning and sanitizing, and maintenance. It’s written so you can hand it to a health or food inspector. The assembly video and all our other manuals are on the Learn page.
What does shipping look like?+
Freight-only from our Vancouver, BC workshop. Ships in 5–10 days. Free shipping to the lower 48 — duties and import fees included at checkout. We palletize, you'll get a delivery appointment, and we'll talk you through inspection on receipt.
What's the warranty?+
2 years on the stainless: the vessel, every weld and TC port, grain baskets, brew tables and stainless fittings.
1 year on electronics: controllers, pumps, heating elements, solenoid valves and temperature probes, whether they come with a system or are bought on their own. Not covered on elements: dry-firing (running the element without liquid covering it), and heat or melt damage at the twist-lock plug from a loose or improper connection — a proper, fully seated connection has to be maintained.
Gaskets, clamps and O-rings are consumables; replacements are in stock and cheap. Warranty replacement parts are free, and we bill the shipping at cost. If we need the faulty part back, we send you a prepaid label.
Lifetime parts support on everything we build — serviced, not replaced. Orders placed before October 8, 2026 keep the warranty terms they were sold with.
