Brew System Comparison
Building single-vessel electric brewhouses since 2014
We built our first Unibräu in Vancouver in 2014, and every version since has fixed what owners told us about the last one:
- 2014 · The first Unibräu. A kettle with a heating element, a grain basket, quick-disconnect hoses and a small magnetic-drive pump.
- 2016 · Version 2. Our own Bräu Supply kettle, a mesh grain basket and a PID controller with a pump switch.
- 2017 · Version 3, launched on Kickstarter. Tri-clamp fittings and the layout today’s Unibräu grew from.
- 2025 · DrainPro. A sloped bottom with a welded tri-clamp drain, for cleaner transfers and clean-in-place.
See photos of each version on our Clawhammer vs Unibräu page, and how our systems compare with other brands in all-in-one electric brewing systems compared.
What goes into every system
- Sanitary 1.5" tri-clamp throughout: every port (element, recirculation supply and return) is a welded tri-clamp ferrule. Standard sanitary parts that any supplier sells.
- Stainless grain basket: slotted stainless walls, with a perforated bottom plate on the 10 gal and a laser-cut slotted false bottom on the 20 and 30 gal.
- Recirculating mash with a magnetic-drive pump: hold your mash temperature, or step it, without stirring, lifting hot grain or a separate mash tun.
- Room to scale: the same ports, fittings and hardware from 5 gallons to 1 BBL, so the tri-clamp parts you start with keep working as you grow.
Why buy from Bräu Supply
- Refined since 2014: owner feedback has gone into every version.
- Standard tri-clamp parts: every clamp, gasket, valve and adapter is industry-standard sanitary hardware. Nothing proprietary.
- Talk to the people who build it: designed and assembled in Vancouver, BC. Spec questions are answered by the people who built your system.
- Tariff-free to the USA: duties and brokerage included at checkout. No surprise import fees.
- 2-year warranty on the stainless, 1 year on electronics + lifetime parts support: every component is individually replaceable. Built to be serviced, not replaced.
