Adjustable Spunding Valve / PRV for Unitank Fermenters

Adjustable Spunding Valve / PRV for Unitank Fermenters

Precise Pressure Control for Fermentation & Carbonation

Upgrade your Unitank fermenter with our premium adjustable spunding valve, designed for precise pressure control and built-in safety. This compact, all-stainless steel valve allows you to maintain pressure during fermentation and naturally carbonate your beer — all while protecting your tank with an integrated pressure relief valve. Built for professional-level performance and effortless operation, it’s the perfect solution for both advanced homebrewers and small craft breweries.

Made entirely from 304 stainless steel — no internal plastic parts.
Adjustable from 0–15 psi using a knurled knob for quick, accurate tuning.
Maintains steady fermentation pressure and enables natural carbonation.
Integrated PRV automatically vents excess pressure to ensure safety.
Fits all standard 1.5″ tri-clamp PRV ports.
Tool-free design — no disassembly required for use or cleaning.
Compact and easy to sanitize between batches.

Why Use an Adjustable Spunding Valve?

Fermenting under pressure reduces esters and unwanted flavors during warm fermentations. It accelerates lagering and allows you to carbonate your beer naturally — without the need for forced CO₂. This valve gives you full control over your fermentation environment, while the built-in PRV keeps your tank safe at all times.

Adjustable Spunding Valve / PRV

Overview

This adjustable spunding valve controls internal pressure during fermentation and carbonation. Designed to fit any 1.5" tri-clamp PRV port, it features a built-in pressure relief mechanism and tool-free adjustment via the knurled top dial.

🔧 Installation

  1. Sanitize the spunding valve and all tri-clamp hardware.
  2. Attach the valve to your fermenter’s 1.5" tri-clamp PRV port using a gasket and tri-clamp (not included).
  3. Ensure the adjustment knob is turned fully counterclockwise (minimum pressure) before beginning fermentation.

⚙️ Pressure Adjustment

  • Turn the knob clockwise to increase pressure setpoint.
  • Turn it counterclockwise to decrease pressure setpoint.

The valve will automatically begin to vent once your fermenter’s internal pressure exceeds the setpoint.

Recommended starting point: 5 psi, then fine-tune based on your fermentation goals.

💡 Usage Tips

  • Use a pressure gauge on your fermenter to monitor internal pressure.
  • Always confirm the vent path is clear and unobstructed.
  • Ensure your fermenter is rated for pressure (up to 15 psi).

🧼 Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Remove the valve and rinse with hot water immediately after use.
  • Clean with brewery-safe cleaner (like PBW), rinse, and dry thoroughly.
  • No internal disassembly is required for standard cleaning.
  • Do not use abrasive pads or harsh chemicals.

⚠️ Safety Notes

  • This unit includes a built-in pressure relief valve, but you should always monitor your system.
  • Never exceed 15 psi — check that your fermenter is pressure-rated.
  • Do not attempt to modify or disassemble the valve.
