OPERATION & CLEANING MANUAL

1.5″ Tri-Clamp Ball Valve – 3-Piece with 1″ Port

Overview

This tri-clamp ball valve is built for fine control over flow rates in brewing systems — especially during mashing and lautering. Its 1″ full-bore port allows unimpeded flow, while the lever handle enables smooth micro-adjustments ideal for Vorlaufing.

The 3-piece design allows for full disassembly, making cleaning and maintenance straightforward. Tri-clamp ends ensure secure, sanitary integration with any 1.5″ brewing hardware.

Installation

  1. Sanitize the valve, gaskets, and tri-clamp connections prior to installation.
  2. Mount the valve between two tri-clamp ferrules using a 1.5″ tri-clamp and silicone gasket.
  3. Ensure the handle operates smoothly without sticking.
  4. Orient the valve for easy access to the handle during operation.

⚠️ Always verify that all connections are tight and leak-free before introducing hot liquid.

🔁 Operation

  • Rotate the lever to open or restrict flow.
  • For Vorlauf or mash recirculation, use partial openings to fine-tune flow rate.
  • The full-bore port allows unrestricted flow when fully open.
  • Use slow, deliberate movements for micro-adjustments during critical flow phases.

🧼 Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Disassemble the valve after each use by removing the tri-clamps and separating the body.
  • Use a soft brush to clean all internal surfaces with brewery-safe cleaner (e.g. PBW).
  • Rinse thoroughly with hot water.
  • Inspect ball, seals, and internal seats for residue or wear.
  • Sanitize before next use and reassemble using clean tri-clamp gaskets.

✅ Periodic lubrication of the stem with food-grade lubricant may help preserve smooth operation.
