Condensador de vapor

Steam Condenser for Indoor Brewing & Controlled Boils

Designed for Clean, Indoor Electric Brewing

The Bräu Supply Steam Condenser captures and condenses boil-off vapor back into liquid, dramatically reducing indoor humidity, odors, and surface condensation during electric brewing.

Engineered for tri-clamp integration, it mounts directly to an upper 1.5" TC port or to the optional Domed Clamping Lid (10G & 20G kettles). It integrates seamlessly with DrainPro kettles, Unibräu systems, BräuPro systems, and HERMS-based setups without impacting boil performance when properly configured.

Compatibility & Mounting Options

Option 1 – Direct Top Port Mounting (All Sizes)

Clamps directly to a 1.5" tri-clamp CIP or upper port on:

  • DrainPro kettles (all sizes)
  • Unibräu systems
  • BräuPro fermenter vessels
  • HERMS configurations

No additional lid is required when using an existing upper tri-clamp port or CIP port on kettle lid.

Option 2 – Domed Clamping Lid Integration (10G & 20G Only)

For 10G and 20G DrainPro kettles, the optional Domed Clamping Lid provides a centered mounting position and fully sealed boil environment.

The domed lid also features a 3" tri-clamp port, allowing installation of an internal cooling coil for fermentation conversion when desired.

Design & Construction

  • Tri-clamp mounting — Secure sanitary connection to 1.5" TC ports or domed lid.
  • Water-cooled internal mixing nozzle — Introduces cold water to rapidly condense steam into liquid.
  • 304 stainless steel construction — Corrosion-resistant and suitable for continuous brewing use.
  • Compact discharge design — Routes condensate safely away from the vessel.

What’s Included

  • Steam condenser assembly — 1.5" tri-clamp compatible, 304 stainless construction.
  • Submersible recirculation pump — Sized for stable, controlled condenser flow.
  • Water connection kit — Pre-cut tubing with quick-disconnect (QD) fittings for fast setup and removal.
  • Discharge tubing — For routing condensate to a drain or secondary container.

The system is delivered as a complete recirculating solution. No additional plumbing components are required beyond a water reservoir (e.g., 5-gallon pail).

Water Supply

Recirculating Pump Configuration

For improved efficiency and reduced water waste, the condenser is supplied by the included submersible pump placed in a 5-gallon pail of cold water.

In this configuration:

  • Water is drawn from a reservoir via pump
  • Condensate drains to a second container or floor drain
  • Flow is stable and easily controlled
  • Total water usage is significantly reduced compared to tap-fed operation

This method is ideal for garage and basement breweries where direct plumbing is limited or water conservation is preferred.

Operation Guidelines

  • Flow control — Use the lowest water flow required to eliminate visible steam.
  • Boil level — Maintain wort level below the condenser port to prevent spray carryover.
  • Drain routing — Keep discharge tubing open and unobstructed. Do not submerge or trap the outlet.
  • Controller adjustment — When using EZboil or similar controllers, reduce power output as needed to prevent boil-over.

Boil-Off & Recipe Considerations

Using a steam condenser reduces boil-off compared to open boiling. Expect approximately 20–30% less volume loss, depending on boil intensity and water flow rate.

Minor adjustments to pre-boil volume or boil duration may be required to maintain target gravity. Once calibrated, no further changes are typically necessary. It is advisable to reduce boil intensity using the controller panel to maintain a controlled rolling boil.
