Here at Brau Supply, we spend a lot of time thinking about beer. For us, beer is more than just a beverage to be consumed. Beer is history. Beer is culture. Beer is a good time with friends on a lazy Saturday afternoon. For thousands of years, people have been consuming beer in one form or another. The earliest records indicate that the beer of antiquity was quite different than the beer we are used to today, however, the fact still remains that beer has been with humanity since we first started to form into the precursors of societies. In today’s post, we are going to pick up where we left off and continue to go over some of the benefits that come along with home brewing. Keep reading to learn more.
Home Brew Systems Are Awesome
When you get down to it, being able to brew your own beer at home is pretty awesome. With a little time, instruction, and dedication, you can take a collection of ingredients and produce a beverage that is all your own. Below, we have listed a few more of the benefits that come along with the brewing your own beer at home.
Quality Products: Unlike beer that is brewed by large brewers across the country, home brewing allows you to produce a product that has a high level of quality. Big brewers, for the most part, are more concerned with quantity over quality when it comes to the beer they produce. They have contracts with multiple distributors that must be fulfilled each month, meaning that they are going to produce beer even if that beer is not of the highest quality. When you home brew, you are able to control every aspect of your beer, ensuring that your beer is the highest quality possible.
Fewer Hangovers: When you produce beer on a home brew system, you end up with a beer with a large quantity of yeast. This yeast, in turn, contains a large quantity of Vitamin B which helps to naturally reduce the effects of hangovers. Beer that is brewed on a large scale is often filtered and pasteurized, two processes that end up stripping most of the Vitamin B from the beer and, unfortunately, lead to more hangovers.
Creativity: Perhaps one of the best parts about homebrewing is the fact that it allows a person to be as creative as they want with the beer that they produce. Want to see if a peanut butter and jelly porter will taste good? No problem. Just buy the appropriate ingredients, brew your beer, and see if you’ve made something tasty. Even if you make a few batches of beer that taste awful, the creative freedom allows you to experiment and find the ingredients that make the tastiest beer.
